Content

This course is for those who have taken Tłı̨chǫ beginner level 3 or those who have experience speaking Tłı̨chǫ Yatıı̀. Students will develop their conversation skills and improve their confidence by speaking to other Tłı̨chǫ Yatıı̀ speakers. They will also be given opportunities to practice reading and writing in the language as they deepen their understanding of the written language, particularly with low tones, nasal tones and glottal sounds. In addition, stories and cultural elements will be integrated throughout the lessons. This course is intended for all learners of Tłı̨chǫ Yatıı̀, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous alike, who want to learn the language for work or for pleasure. The interactive activities will help learners communicate with elders, knowledge keepers, family members, and other members of the community.
